Astroboy - Lecture Hall

Astroboy (2009) - Imagi Animation Studios
This collection includes my environment designs for the Lecture Hall. This location is used as a backdrop for Dr. Elefun as he explains the properties of the Blue and Red Cores. I tried a lot of different ideas but we settled on a more traditional auditorium setting
since the focus needed to be clearly on the stage with Dr. Elefun. Some of the visual design was similar to the military look, but a bit cleaner and using less of the military blues.
My responsibilities for this set were initial layouts, thumbnail concepts, final designs, effects lookdev, color, and surfacing direction. I was also responsible with giving direction and feedback to the overseas animation team building the sets. I worked as an environment designer in the visual development department under Sam Michlap (Production Designer) and Jake Rowell (Art Director).
