Astroboy - President Stone's HQ

Astroboy (2009) - Imagi Animation Studios
This collection includes my environment designs for President Stone's Headquarters Ship. For this location, we see President Stone and his team as they travel through Metro City in search of Astroboy. Designing this set began some of the early visual language for
the military that the production continued to use throughout the rest of the film. This set needed a cockpit for pilots and technicians with a big clear view of
the city that could also double as a view screen. For President Stone's command chair, I wanted to convey a sense of superiority and his lust for power.
My responsibilities for this set were initial layouts, thumbnail concepts, final designs, effects lookdev, color, and surfacing direction. I was also responsible with giving direction and feedback to the overseas animation team building the sets. I worked as an environment designer in the visual development department under Sam Michlap (Production Designer) and Jake Rowell (Art Director).
